The World's finest Longboard Skateboards
Made for 30 years in Huntington Beach, California
by the Master, himself, Gene Tibbets

One more layer of wood and one more layer of glue than most laminated wood boards you can buy - part of what makes Sire Longboards legendary.

Over 30 years of crafting skateboards and skim boards have honed Geno's methods till all his products meet only his highest standards of craftsmanship. His philosophy is to make the finest quality board and make it affordable so even the kids on the beach can buy a Sire Boarding Company product. His premium quality boards, whether skateboards or skim boards, rank among the very top quality in the industry worldwide.

Gene Tibbets, known in the industry as Geno, is a true Southern California Native who grew up on the beach in Huntington Beach, California. He was building skateboards in his mother's garage at the age of 5, taking apart his sister's roller-skates and nailing them to a piece of wood.

"I put wheels on everything I could, and rode it," said Geno of his early days. "My Dad cut out a round piece of wood, once, and he and I put casters on it to use to move our trashcans but I grabbed it and rode it every day."

Geno started making boards for other kids when he hit woodshop in Junior High School where he had real woodworking tools available instead of his old hacksaws. His first break came when a local board shop owner asked him where he got the board he was riding, and when Geno said he had made it himself, the store owner ordered a dozen on the spot. That was the beginning of the legend.

He mass-produced his boards in High School woodshop and became the hottest skateboard manufacturer in the region at 15 years of age. "I don't know how this happened, but the biggest skateboard manufacturer around found me and gave me a job making boards after school and on weekends during the mid-1970s," Geno recalls. "We made boards for Tony Alba, Stacy Peralta, and Tom Simms to name just a few of the stars who rode our sticks."

After a lay-off during his college years, Geno got back into making skateboards when his son wanted a trick board.

"I went down to buy him a longboard and decided to make him one of my own designs. Pretty soon I was mass producing the boards and … well … here we are."
