Volcom Trip – 08/14/09
11:50 pm in Site News by Matt Scheafer
Another nice little session for the kids at Volcom today. Much better crowd and good times by all. Alex W, my 2 groms, and a few others were on hand.
Got a chance to see a new rider and to welcome him to the team… son of CM city council member Katrina Foley, Sam is up and coming. Already a decorated snowboarder, Sam gave us a few runs before we had to ditch out. I am sure we will see more in the future for Sam so keep your eyes open.
Another familiar face, Anthony Carney was ripping it up as usual. Anthony is a class act. He is always friendly, never has a bad thing to say AND ACTUALLY OFFERED TO WRITE FOR US!!! I am looking forward to hearing from him and bringing him out to some events. He is just the kind of guy you can walk up to at a park and say hello.
Keep an eye out for us when we hit the park(s), every now and then I have shirts, stickers, trucks, etc…

Good times
Wow, that’s so cool that Council Member Foley lets Sam skate without elbow pads while at Volcom.
This could be potentially scandalous since there has been so many CMPD sweeps this summer at Volcom for not wearing the required elbow/knee pads & helmets. (So I guess this means Sam won’t be getting a $245 ticket like all the other unfortunate skaters did during the tactical raids.) Man, I wish my mom was that cool.
According to Katrina, Sam has been spoken to by CMPD… he is treated the same as any other skater at the park.
Katrina is a HUGE advocate of skateboarding and other youth sports in the city, I wouldn’t hold this one against her.
